Your bath and shower is one of the parts of your house that you go to for relaxation, as well as to help yourself get nice and clean. This is why it's important for you to do all that you can in order to keep your bath and shower in good working order and to keep it as clean as possible. The tips offered to you in this article will educate you on taking better care of your bath and shower for future reference.
Clean the shower and bath correctly
Instead of waiting every couple of weeks, or even longer, and spending a lot of time really scouring your bath and shower you should think about cleaning it every time you use it. You will find it much easier to simply give it a good wiping down while you are already in it and it's already wet. You can keep a rag in there so you can grab it and wipe the walls and bottom down quickly.
Since you will be wiping it down after each use, you won't need to use harsh chemicals. Using harsh chemicals can be bad on your plumbing system because they can eventually eat away at the PVC pipes in our system. You can also keep a tooth brush in there you can use to go around the lines you really need to get in to.
If you don't already have one, you can install a hand held shower head. Not only will this make showering easier, but it is also great for making sure you are able to quickly and easily rinse all of the soap and water spots right off of the walls of the shower.
Avoid dealing with clogs
Soap scum, hair, whiskers and small pieces of bar soap that make their way down the drain can all contribute to your tub clogging or draining very slowly. A very easy way for you to avoid needing to deal with this is to remove the normal plug by unscrewing it and put it somewhere for safe keeping. The, put a plug screen in that you can purchase at your local hardware store.
When you want to fill up the bath you can simply use a bathtub drain cover that fits right over the hole and stays in place due to the pressure of the water on it. When the screen gets full of things like hair, whiskers and chunks of bar soap you can lift t right out and dump it.
